The FIA has determined what we already knew. Mich Guthrie's car was in accordance with the regulations.
Following the conclusion of the 2024 Dakar Rally, the International Automobile Federation authorities received a protest regarding the engine used by Taurus #303 driven by Mitchell Guthrie (Red Bull Off Road JR Team USA presented by BFG). In response to this claim, the engine was dismantled, sealed, and sent to the FIA facilities in France for inspection.
The FIA Technical Delegate conducted a report reaffirming the engine's compliance and all inspected parts with the regulations. Furthermore, it was clarified that the doubts raised by the complainant were related to the original parts of the engine, which are exempt from certain restrictions.
During the hearing held on April 4th and after a thorough analysis, considering the Technical Delegate's report, the judges decided to reject the protest, concluding that the #303 car's engine met the requirements established by the FIA International Sporting Code.
